Most "About Us" pages get written in the third person, but I prefer to speak for myself! I started the business in 1990, after 20 years in management, the last five of which were in HR Consultancy with a very successful group.
As you'll see from the other pages on this site, I've been around a bit. However, I believe breadth of experience to be advantage in consultancy, since part of what we do is to act as pollen carriers to business and our not-for-profit clients.
Business relationships are very important to me. Some of my current clients date back to the early years of the business, and many have become firm friends. I believe in the adage, "Love your customer, not your product", and have tried strenuously to anticipate my clients' changing needs.
I do employ Associates, very competent people I've known well for years, and who I know I can trust. Sometimes Associates can help with high workloads, sometimes they can complement my skills. Always, they share my values about customer service, and the high standards I try to achieve.
My own learning and development is important to me. Whilst running the business, I've completed a B.Sc. with the Open University and a Masters in HRM with Coventry University, where I also now do a little lecturing.
I've been married to Ann since 1972, and we have four children, two boys and two girls. The boys are grown up and making their way in life, whilst the girls are still in full time education. Our children are my greatest joy in life.
